Canyon Lake

Canyon Lake Texas is a stunning, hidden treasure of the Central Texas Hill Country. With breathtaking waterfront and lake views. The Texas Hill Country is famous for its hilly terrain, live oak trees, limestone rocks, native animals, and clean fresh air.

Canyon Lake is North of San Antonio TX and has a couple recreation areas and parks. There are several swimming spots, boat ramps, camping, and picnic areas. It a great place to fish or camp.

Boerne City Park

Boerne City Park Lake is roughly 1 mile northwest of Boerne off of Upper Cibolo Creek Road, this park is a great place for swimmers and sunbathers. This lake has soccer fields, hiking trails, fishing pier, boating dock, playgrounds and more. It has a roped off swimming area, full fishing pier, and boat rental dock. It’s close to San Antonio TX and easy to get too.

Calaveras Lake

Calaveras Lake is approximately 20 miles southeast of San Antonio. This beautiful San Antonio lake offers fishing, boating, camping, and biking trails for a fun day by the lake. There are also shaded picnic tables and BBQ pits so you can make a day out of swimming and grilling. 

Calaveras has boating and fishing available on-site for a fun day with family and friends! A little know fact is there are handful of alligators at Calaveras Lake. Bexar County estimated there are about a half dozen alligators in Calaveras Lake and said they have every right to be there.

Lake Travis

Spend the day at this next lake. Lake Travis is a reservoir on the Colorado River in central Texas. It serves as a popular destination for people living in Austin and San Antonio TX. It is stunning and considered to be the jewel of the Highland Lakes, which include Lake Buchanan, Inks Lake, LBJ (Lake Lyndon B Johnson), and Marble Falls.

Elmendorf Lake

Elmendorf Lake and Park are located on a portion of the land once known as the Coulson Tract that comprised 687 acres on the San Antonio’s west side. The fun park is known for its biking trails and fishing. Elmendorf Lake, in particular, is a popular spot for windsurfing and kayaking.
